Andy Kay – Director:

Andy has over 14 years experience working for one of the country’s leading food manufacturers, Cranswick Country Foods, the last 3 of which were as site director. As site director, Andy had overall responsibility for the profitability and efficiency of a cooked meats site, which across a variety of Key Performance Indicators was the best performing cooked meats site in the group.

Andy has a wide range of management expertise. He has developed exceptional operational and planning skills with a particular flair for improving efficiencies throughout factories. He is logical and innovative and has a proven record of delivering practical, significant cost savings and running a site operating best practice standards across all disciplines.

Sharon Thomas – Director:

With a BA HONS Degree in Home Economics and Public Media from Leeds University backed up with over 16 years experience in the food industry holding the positions of NPD, Technical and Operations Manager. Early in her career Sharon focused on NPD and Technical working alongside the UK’s major retailers launching new, innovative products into the market place.

Sharon has excellent project management skills and has been very effective in delivering an array of projects on time for retailers and the organisations she has worked for. These have often been to tight deadlines and have been managed through a critical path and team work approach. Sharon is logical and particularly effective in the implementation of standard operating practices and procedures, team building and the implementation of change management strategies, leading to sustainability and continuous improvement throughout an organisation.

The company has been formed to allow the experiences and knowledge that we have acquired through previous roles in food manufacturing to be used to help benefit other organisations. With many years of operational experience in the food manufacturing arena, supplying major retailers, we have hands on experience that enables us to bring practical, sustainable improvements and solutions.

I have a particular strength in being able to identify potential operational improvements either by using previous experiences or challenging current procedures. I am always looking to improve operational processes with the ultimate goal always being to see financial improvements and/or business security.

To complement these skills, Sharon, from a Product Development and Technical background is meticulous about project management. Add to this her excellent people skills where she can bring departments together to work as a strong, effective team. Using these skills she works with people to ensure that projects and identified improvements become sustainable. Often this requires the use of standard operating procedures which we will help to implement and coach throughout an organisation. The ultimate goal is for the team to become self sufficient in delivering continuous improvement.

By combining different personalities and skill sets this allows us, at EBS, to support and bring impact across an entire operational structure. The flexibility of EBS allows clients to choose the support they require from specific short term projects to more long term development plans.

As a team we have always been passionate about operations and delivering the best with a right first time philosophy.
